Warsaw for the purpose of seizing the king. They so far succeeded as to carry him without the Avails of the city ; but were obliged to leaAre him, and escape from a troop of horse that Avere sent to overĀtake them. His army was afterwards defeated, and his estates conĀfiscated, when he went to Paris. In 1777 he went to America and joined the army under Washington, where he distinguished himself by his good service to the cause he had embraced.
